Chevrolet Generator, 10-1/2" Long

This generator is 10-1/2 inch long 6 volt, 5/8 inch belt pulley. The rebuild process includes: Fully disassembled and cleaned in parts scrubber, bead blasted and painted. Field coils and armature are tested to original specifications (original field coils and armature are by far superior to new aftermarket parts). Armatures that fail are 'rewound" at a facility in Seattle Washington. Field coils are rewrapped if needed, good armatures are turned on a lathe and retested. All generators get new drive end bearings, new commutator end bushings (these are 'oil-lite" bushings with graphite impregnated into them so no lubrication is ever needed, they self- lubricate). New brushes are installed and brush springs are tested and replaced if weak. A new pulley is installed and the generator is ran on a 6 volt test stand for 30 minutes at full amp load to test operation and to seat the brushes to the commutator. A new band is installed that covers the brush openings in the field case. Hardware is replaced as needed.
